Dom has almost a decade’s experience working in the healthcare industry, with dual qualifications as an Exercise Physiologist and Physiotherapist.
After completing a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology at UNSW he worked as an Exercise Physiologist in sports rehabilitation as well as workplace injury management. To progress his passion for health and learning Dom completed a Doctor of Physiotherapy, at Macquarie University, and was awarded the Vice Chancellors Commendation for Academic Excellence.

Dom has been since working as a physiotherapist within private practice settings developing a passion for musculoskeletal and sporting injuries. Over the years he has also developed a particular skillset in treating patients with rheumatic diseases. Dom strives for optimal patient results using a combined approach of manual therapy and exercise rehabilitation. After sustaining numerous injuries over the years he understand the importance of effective and efficient rehab.
Whilst working clinically as a physiotherapist, he has also continued to undertake academic research, recently publishing academic research in the field of sports science.
When not in the clinic Dom can be found out riding mountain bikes, rock climbing, scuba diving or trying new and adventurous activities. On weekends he can also be found volunteering with the Red Cross, educating young people at events across Sydney.

Physiotherapist Dom Fitzgerald is available for appointments:

  • Mondays 8am – 2pm
  • Tuesdays 2pm – 8pm
  • Wednesdays 8am – 2pm
  • Thursdays 8am – 2pm, and
  • Fridays 2pm – 8pm

What to expect at your first appointment

Your first Physiotherapy appointment will be about 30 minutes long. During this time Dom will discuss with you your medical history in relation to this pain or injury as well as other relevant information such as daily routines like office work or sports, which may be contributing to your pain. Dom can then assess your injury or pain via movement based tests to confirm what may be the cause of your pain.
These tests may include orthopaedic testing, a spinal examination, postural assessment, muscle testing, and neurological testing. During this initial assessment patients will typically receive treatment unless it’s un-safe to do so.
Return and ongoing visits are usually 30 minutes long and offer treatment & periodic comparative assessments to work towards your goals.

Fees

The fee for an initial consultation with a member of our Physio team is $110 (allow up to 30 minutes)
A standard consultation is $97 (allow up to 30 minutes)
A long consultation is $160 (allow up to 1-hour)

*Private health funds generally cover a portion of our fees, depending on your level of cover.
