Osteopath Dr Nikela Coulter

Growing up in a small country town, Nikela was always interested in healthcare and helping people. With a sporting background in netball and swimming, her own injuries eventually lead her towards osteopathy. Being able to assist people in returning to their optimal health is what she is passionate about.
Upon finishing high school, Nikela decided to follow her healthcare passion and begin her osteopathic studies at Southern Cross University in Lismore. Since completing her Bachelor of Clinical Science and Masters of Osteopathic Medicine, Nikela is eager to begin treating patients of all ages and all healthcare needs.

What to expect at your first appointment

Your first Osteopathy appointment will be about 40 minutes long. During this time Nikela will discuss with you your medical history in relation to this pain or injury as well as other relevant information such as daily routines like office work or sports, which may be contributing to your pain. Nikela can then assess your injury or pain via movement based tests to confirm what may be the cause of your pain.
These tests may include orthopaedic testing, a spinal examination, postural assessment, muscle testing, and neurological testing. During this initial assessment patients will typically receive treatment unless it’s un-safe to do so.
Return and ongoing visits are usually 20 minutes long and offer treatment & periodic comparative assessments to work towards your goals.
