About Osteopath Dr Kuan Ng
Osteopath Dr Kuan Ng grew up in Malaysia in the town of Ipoh 200km north of Kuala Lumpur, however has lived with his wife and son in Australia since immigrating here in 1981.
Since his early years Kuan has practised Ru Yi Bagua (‘Roo-Yee-Baa-Gwa’) – an ancient Chinese art that emphasises the role of body equilibrium, balance, fluid movements, and clarity of mind in a person’s health and wellness, and acknowledges the link between a healthy mind, body and spirit.
Through Ru Yi Bagua, Kuan has successfully treated people for postural pain and musculoskeletal conditions for over 30 years.
In more recent years Kuan’s interests in the area of health lead him to discover and study osteopathy, a western approach to medicine that (like Ru Yi Bagua) emphasises the role of the musculoskeletal system in health and disease. Kuan joined our Osteopathy team in North Ryde in 2009.
Uniquely, Kuan’s background allows him to draw on a variety hands on techniques and exercises from both the Eastern art of Ru Yi Bagua, and the Western science of Osteopathic medicine.
When not at Ryde Natural Health Clinic, you can find Kuan pampering his pet goldfish, enjoying fine foods with friends or developing his lifelong interests in the martial arts.
