What to expect in your first appointment
Your first appointment with Dr Evan will be approximately 40 minutes long. During this time, Evan will ask you questions about your current presentation and your medical history relating to your pain. He will also ask questions about other relevant information to gather an understanding of why you are experiencing your pain and what could be contributing to it.
Evan will then do an assessment of the area that is causing you pain by doing movement based testing, as well as other forms of tests such as orthopaedic testing, muscle testing, spinal and postural assessments, and neurological testing. From this testing, he will aim to formulate a diagnosis and explain an appropriate management schedule going forward.
Treatment will normally involve hands on treatment including joint manipulation and soft tissue work. Following treatment, Evan will reassess your pain to note any improvement, and may prescribe exercises for you to complete at home in-between treatments.
Follow-up appointments (‘standard appointments’) are approximately 20 minutes long and offer treatment and periodic comparative assessments to work towards your goals.
