Osteopathy

Most people visit an Osteopath when they are experiencing neck, back or joint pain, or have sustained a sporting injury.

As a broad concept, the body has an amazing ability to self-heal, and most aches and pains will over time go away if the body (or that specific part of the body) is functioning properly.

Based on this concept, the Osteopathic approach to treating aches and pains is to use a combination of hands-on techniques, exercises and lifestyle advice to restore normal function to the joints, nerves, muscles and other soft tissues.

Chiropractic

Chiropractors are trained to identify and treat mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system- particularly in relation to the spine and pelvis. For this reason, many people who visit a Chiropractor do so for neck, back or joint pain.

The goal of Chiropractic treatment is to correct muscle imbalances, reduce joint stiffness, and improve joint range of motion. To achieve this Chiropractors does not use drugs or surgery but uses gentle ‘adjustments’ that improve the mobility of your spinal joints and the position of your vertebrae.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy in North Ryde

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession that assesses, diagnoses, treats, and works to prevent disease and disability through physical means. Physiotherapists are experts in movement and function who work in partnership with their patients, assisting them to overcome movement disorders, which may have been present from birth, acquired through accident or injury, or are the result of ageing or life-changing events.

Physiotherapy can help you recover from injury, reduce pain and stiffness, and increase mobility. A physiotherapist can also help you prevent further injury by listening to your needs and working with you to plan the most appropriate treatment for your condition, including setting goals and treatment outcomes.

Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture

‘Traditional Chinese Medicine’, ‘ Chinese Medicine’, or simply ‘TCM’ is a system of medicine developed in China that has a very different history and approach than Western medicine. Rather than treating disease or the symptoms of disease, a Chinese medicine practitioner treats patterns of disharmony (or symptom clusters) in a patient.

Acupuncture and herbs are both an integral part of Chinese medicine practice, which may help patients to manage a range of symptoms including pain, nausea, stress and fatigue.
